We welcomed 23 Grade 11 and 12 students into the National Honor Society in a ceremony at Reagan Theater. They join 17 existing members in a group that exemplifies the Honor Society’s four values of leadership, service, scholarship and character.
The inductees are all scholars, as proven by the quality of their work and grades at school. Their leadership, service and character extend to activities such as serving underprivileged children in China, raising awareness about Multiple Sclerosis, starting environmental and other clubs at Stamford, tutoring peers and helping shape a new, growing student council.
The process is competitive: a faculty committee carefully reviews student qualifications and offers admission only to the most qualified. An Honor Society that now boasts 40 members is a testament to Principal Ocki Fernandes and the entire high school faculty and staff for the high standards they have set – and the significant academic and service accomplishments of students the last couple years.
