Sports CCAs at Stamford American

Three Pathways: Activity, Athletics, Academy

At Stamford, Sports CCAs are built around three distinct pathways designed to meet every student where they are. Whether your child wants to try a new sport for fun, compete at a regional level, or train year-round toward elite performance, there is a clear path forward.

This three-pathway structure means that every child can find their entry point and progress at their own pace – from first trying a racket sport in Elementary School to representing Stamford at a SEASAC championship in High School.

What Are CCAs at Stamford?

Co-curricular activities (CCAs) at our international school are structured enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom. They allow students to explore interests in sports, arts, leadership, STEM, and academic enrichment while developing essential skills such as creativity, teamwork, leadership, communication, and well-being. With more than 500 activities available across Pre-K through Grade 12, CCAs offer a wide range of choices that support personalization and holistic student development.

Whether you are looking for CCAs in Singapore that develop leadership, creativity, or athletic ability, Stamford offers after-school activities across all age groups from Pre-K to Grade 12. As one of Singapore’s most comprehensive extracurricular activities programs, our six CCA categories give every student a pathway to grow.

From Casual Sport to University Scholarship

Zinzan – Rugby at Stamford American

Zinzan joined rugby at Stamford to make friends. By graduation, he had earned a scholarship to Queens University of Charlotte, USA.

“At Stamford American, I discovered what it means to live with resilience, leadership, and courage. Rugby started as a way to connect with friends, but it quickly became my passion and purpose… Playing multiple sports gave me an edge. Basketball rebounds, football strikes, volleyball blocks – all of it sharpened my skills and made me a more dynamic rugby player… That leap led me to a rugby scholarship at Queens University of Charlotte – proof that chasing what feels ‘different’ can open doors you never imagined.”

Competitions, Showcases & Recognition

Stamford’s Sports CCAs provide structured pathways to external competition and recognition across two major conference memberships and beyond.

SEASAC & ACSIS Leagues

Stamford competes in two major leagues. SEASAC (Southeast Asia Student Activities Conference) is a 16-school regional league where students travel to represent Stamford in tournaments across Southeast Asia. ACSIS (Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools) is the local league, fielding teams from age 8U through 19U.

Seasonal sports across both leagues include Football, Basketball, Tennis, Cross Country, Badminton, Golf, Rugby, Touch Rugby, Volleyball, Swimming, Gymnastics, Softball and Track. In 2024, SAIS hosted SEASAC Volleyball where the Lions Boys were promoted into Division 1.

Additional recognition pathways:

  • University sports recruitment support – student-athletes receive guidance on highlight reels, coach outreach, and scholarship applications
  • Recognition through Athletic Council leadership and sports awards ceremonies
