Technology With Purpose
At Stamford American International School, technology is used to help students explore ideas, collaborate, solve problems and create in new ways.
Digital learning is integrated across teaching and learning, with Stamford’s Digital Learning Team working alongside teachers to make sure technology adds purpose to the classroom experience. As students grow, they learn to use digital tools with increasing independence, creativity and responsibility.
One-to-One Technology
Stamford provides students with age-appropriate technology as their learning develops.
KG2 to Grade 5: iPad
Grades 6 to 12: MacBook
Students use their devices across subjects for research, communication, collaboration and creation. The technology changes as they progress through school, supporting the increasing independence and complexity of their learning.
Beyond Device
Technology at Stamford is not limited to what happens on a screen.
Students have opportunities to explore areas such as robotics, coding, electronics and digital design, applying what they learn to practical challenges and ideas of their own. Stamford’s Makerspaces and Innovation Center provide access to resources including 3D printers, robotics equipment and multimedia facilities.
These spaces give students room to design, test, adapt and discover what is possible when technology becomes a tool for making ideas real.
Digital Literacy & Citizenship
Using technology confidently also means knowing how to use it thoughtfully.
Students develop digital literacy through research, communication, collaboration and the evaluation of information. They also learn about responsible technology use, including online safety, security, digital wellbeing and managing their digital footprint.
The aim is not simply for students to become capable technology users. It is for them to make informed choices about how, when and why they use it.
