World Autism Day is celebrated each year on April 2nd. It is a day for us to acknowledge and advocate for the rights of individuals with autism around the world.
At Stamford, we celebrated Autism Awareness for the whole of the week. Our library created choice boards that included literature and information about autism. Students could also check out the works of some famous people with autism, like actress Daryl Hannah and Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri. They also showed support together with the Stamford community by wearing blue.
