Early childhood education is the stage of learning for children aged 18 months to 6 years. It focuses on social, emotional, and cognitive growth to prepare them for elementary school and beyond.
Early Childhood Education (ECE) is crucial for laying the foundation for a child’s lifelong success. By age five, 90% of a child’s brain development takes place, making these early years vital for cognitive growth and learning (UNESCO). Research also shows that children who attend high-quality ECE programmes perform better academically, achieving higher test scores and grades in reading and math, and are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college (NICHD). Beyond academics, ECE nurtures curiosity, creativity, confidence, and social-emotional skills that help children thrive in school and beyond.
Stamford’s Early Years program is Reggio-inspired, fostering creativity, inquiry, and child-led exploration. It follows American curriculum standards through The Creative Curriculum and AERO while incorporating the IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) framework. Student progress is closely tracked using the Teaching Strategies GOLD framework, covering literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development. Phonics programs from Heggerty and UFLI, along with STEAMInn, are integrated into the curriculum to build strong academic foundations while nurturing each child’s social-emotional growth.
