School Classroom and Attached Outdoor Space

At the Early Learning Village, Stamford American International School integrates the principles of the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy that celebrates opportunities for the outdoor environment to be integrated as the ‘third teacher’. Each classroom is abundant with natural light, is well resourced, with beautifully designed sensory facilities and timber furnishings to stimulate imagination and kindle curiosity.

Attached to each classroom, there is a discovery space which tailors to the different grade levels, where children extend their learning as they venture through their own pint-sized door to dig in the sand, splash in the water and enjoy different facilities and activities such as maker space or science learning with nature. Each teacher will regularly update the resources in the discovery space in response to the child’s interests to further develop their curiosity and extend their learning.
