The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an internationally recognized course designed for students aged 3 to 12. The IB PYP is designed for students from Kindergarten 1 to Grade 5, covering early childhood and elementary education.

After completing the Primary Years Programme (PYP), students are well-prepared to transition to the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The MYP builds on the foundation established in the PYP, continuing to emphasize inquiry-based learning, global awareness, and holistic development. By fostering a deeper understanding of core subjects and encouraging students to make connections between their learning and real-world applications, the MYP supports students in becoming active, lifelong learners.

The transition to MYP allows students to further develop skills such as critical thinking, research, communication, and self-management—skills that are introduced in the PYP and expanded upon in the MYP. As they progress through the MYP, students are encouraged to take more ownership of their learning and begin to explore specific academic interests that will prepare them for future studies in high school and beyond.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Stamford American’s curriculum spans from early childhood through high school, designed to support students at every stage of their educational journey. The Early Learning Village offers a play-based and inquiry-driven approach for young learners, from Infant Care to Kindergarten 2, laying a strong foundation for future learning. As students advance through Elementary and Middle School, the curriculum expands to cover core subjects, with additional opportunities to explore languages, the arts, and technology.

In High School, Stamford American provides two graduating pathways tailored to students’ individual needs and goals. Students can choose to study the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), or an individualized pathway that combines IB, Advanced Placement (AP), Business and Technical Education Council (BTEC), and in-house Stamford courses.

Focus on Holistic Development

At Stamford American, students can grow beyond the classroom through a wide range of co-curricular activities available from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. With more than 350 activities, students can dive into sports, music, drama, technology, and community service. High School students also have the opportunity to form their own student-led clubs focusing on volunteering and community engagement. These activities not only nurture hobbies but also help develop leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and prepare students for life beyond school.

Moreover, Stamford American’s Service Learning Programs integrate community service with academic learning, allowing students to engage in projects that meet both local and global needs while reflecting on their experiences. Our Field Studies Program also provides hands-on, real-world experiences through off-campus educational trips and activities, deepening students’ understanding and application of their studies.

Stamford American International School accepts applications year-round, subject to availability, via our online system. Placement is confirmed only upon receiving an official letter from our enrollment team.

The Student Support Program is currently at full capacity for all grades, and waitlisted applicants will be prioritized if spaces become available. Application outcomes for Language Learners (KG2–Grade 10) will be released from March for Semester 1 (August–December) and from October for Semester 2 (January–June).
