Getting a Local Singapore Phone Number

(Important to provide before the first day of school)

Having a local Singapore phone number ensures our teachers and school staff can reach you quickly, especially in the event of an urgent update or emergency. We strongly recommend setting this up before your child’s first day of school.  Below we have created a step-by-step guide to quickly get this set up!

✅ What you’ll need

  • Passport
  • Singapore Visa
  • Credit or debit card
  • An unlocked mobile phone

🏣 Where to go

Visit any shopping mall and look for:

  • Singtel
  • StarHub
  • M1

💬 What to say

Simply tell the staff:

“I’m new to Singapore and need a permanent local phone number.”

🕐 How long it takes

  • About 15–30 minutes
  • Your Singapore number (+65) is usually active immediately

☑️ Helpful tip

Choose a postpaid plan (not a tourist or prepaid SIM) so your number stays active long-term.

That’s it! Once set up, please provide us the details to update your school file, through this link or by emailing your Admissions Manager or admissionsconcierge@admissions.sais.edu.sg.   You’ll now be easily reachable for school communications and day-to-day life in Singapore.
