Stamford represented the United States of America on February 27 & 28 in Singapore’s annual Chingay Parade. The Chingay Parade is one of the biggest national events on the country’s calendar. This year was an especially exciting year for Singapore as the country celebrated its 50th Birthday. The Stamford team performed to 650,000 spectators and 35 million TV viewers. Stamford was in the company of 11,000 performers representing 18 international groups from 13 different countries.

The theme of Stamford’s performance was "We Are Lions." It showcased the fusion between our school, our host country of Singapore, and the United States of America with a squad of 24 Stamford American Cheerleaders as the center piece of the performance. In addition there were 20 pep squad members, 20 footballers and 6 visual effects performers.

Stamford’s families came out to support our team wearing American colors and showed their school pride. Our community was awarded the prize of Best Audience Contingent at the parade.
