Lions Volleyball Academy

About Our Program

SAIS introduced the Lions Volleyball Academy (LVA) in the 2024-25 school year, reflecting the growing passion for volleyball at Stamford. This initiative offers students a fantastic chance to engage with the sport year-round.

Leading the Academy is our esteemed 19U and 14U Girls Volleyball Coach, Mr. Martin Koenen, who brings over 35 years of coaching experience. Following recent successes with the 19U and 14U girls’ teams, Mr. Koenen will work with a team of skilled coaches to develop a curriculum that aligns with SAIS’s mission, ensuring a rich and engaging experience for all participants.

The LVA welcomes all Middle School (MS) and High School (HS) students, with flexible scheduling options of one or two sessions per week. Join us on Wednesday evenings (6.45 PM – 8 PM or 8 PM – 9.15 PM) or/and Saturday afternoons (3 PM – 4.15 PM) to sharpen your skills.

The Lions Volleyball Academy will focus on skills and techniques as well as the game strategies. Each season will conclude with a mini-tournament against other academies in Singapore. Registration can be done by clicking on this link.

The LVA aims to foster a vibrant volleyball community at SAIS, welcoming all MS and HS students, regardless of their level or experience. We will create training groups based on skill level to enhance development and enjoyment for our young athletes.

Join us in making volleyball an integral part of our Stamford experience!
