How do you nurture an innovative mindset in your child? Or how do we prepare our kids for the ever-changing world?

All students need a space for exploration, the opportunity to be creative, and the time to follow their interests. At Stamford, we provide a multitude of spaces that benefit the students’ learning experience.

Stamford’s adaptable and flexible Innovation Center and newly designed Makerspace for elementary students provide outstanding opportunities for learners at all ages to create, make and design. The spaces have quickly become a creative hub for all Stamford students, allowing them to learn with new technologies while developing innovative minds. Through these innovative learning spaces, students create collaborative partnerships both internally and externally with a number of organizations and individuals who are leaders in their field. From workshops to speaker sessions, students are presented with experiences beyond the classroom walls. To date, our students have had the opportunity to pilot and test new and exciting technologies, apps and games before they have been introduced into the worldwide market.

The flexible spaces allow students aged 6 to 18 years to actively participate in emerging technologies and techniques that are unconventional in a standard classroom – whether it's the school’s VR kits, 3D printers, robots, electronics, textiles or fashion. Students work closely with their teachers and skillful technicians dedicated to the spaces in order to create the perfect design to match their vision. The Innovation Center, located in A4, hosts events, focused sessions, competitions and co-curricular activities to keep our students keenly engaged through authentic learning and application, while the J3 Makerspace is readily available as a professional development hub for staff and parents in addition to the multitude of daily activities and opportunities available for students.
