Our Teachers

Stamford American International School is committed to recruiting faculty who are dedicated, passionate about their subject area and excited by the prospect of working within an international, diverse community. Open-minded and curious, our teachers help students form connections across disciplines and emphasize active, collaborative learning in their teaching philosophy.

Stamford American’s teachers are highly qualified international educators with strong expertise in the IB and American curricula. Our Superintendent brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across schools in Asia, and our 350+ teachers average more than 13 years of experience and a 4.5-year tenure, providing both stability and depth of knowledge. Many are bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural, and  more than 50% of all teachers hold a master’s degree, ensuring students learn from passionate, experienced professionals who foster a global and innovative learning environment.

Professional development is an ongoing priority at Stamford American as we believe a school flourishes when its teachers are committed to lifelong learning. All Stamford American teachers are trained in the IB programs and have time built into their schedules to work with their grade level colleagues to share ideas, teaching resources and strategies. Our celebration of diversity carries over to our teaching staff which represents more than 40 different countries and a wealth of international experience.
