Infant Care

Our Infant Care Program

Infant Care at the Early Learning Village is available for children aged 2 months – 18 months. Following the principles of the RIE philosophy, the goal of our Infant Care is to support the development of the whole child enabling them to feel secure, autonomous, competent, and connected.

When we help a child to feel secure, appreciated and that somebody is deeply, truly interested in them, we can positively influence that child’s whole personality.

This is why as part of our Infant Care Program we give the infant plenty of time for uninterrupted play. Instead of trying to teach babies new skills, we appreciate and admire what babies are actually doing and support that natural learning.

Each baby and infant in our care is unique, with their own developing and changing needs, preferences and routines. At the Early Learning Village, Infant Care adapts to each child, through the creation of Individual Care Programs. These are developed in partnership with each family, ensuring the care we give is as similar to that they would get at home as possible.

Each family has a regularly updated electronic portfolio using the celebrated StoryPark platform, which follows each child’s personal development and shares these moments through photos, videos and text with the family.

Parents have the option to join the Infant Swimming program run by qualified instructors that involves both parent and child.

Our Infant Care Staff

Staffed by well qualified and experienced carers and educators, Infant Care at the Early Learning Village offers parents a unique program for parents that cares for the needs of and supports the development of their baby / infant.

We have a 1:4 carer infant ratio and a pediatric trained nurse is also on hand at the Early Learning Village to support each child’s well-being.

A dedicated dietician helps with planning the weekly menu for the children and meals are prepared within a fully equipped allergen kitchen. Meals are ensured to be developmentally and nutritionally balanced for all children’s individual needs.

Infant Care Pod

The Infant Care Pod is located at Tower C of the Early Learning Village.

Set up within a naturally lit floor, the Pod has spacious rooms that provide for dedicated and engaging activities. Adjoining outside areas offer a sandpit, sensory areas and play spaces that allow the children to experience rain, wind, light and the occasional bird, within a safe and secure environment.

Our approach involves grouping children of similar ages together and replicating their personal home routines, including sleep and feeding schedules, within our dedicated Infant Care Pod. For naptime, children will rest in a quiet room on cots or beds, depending on their age.

Our Infant Care Schedule

The program runs 47 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday from 8 am – 6 pm.
