Rosemary Wells, Global Mentor Program, Authors in Residence
Rosemary Wells is the renowned author of Max and Ruby books for children, her career as an author and illustrator spans more than 30 years and 60 books. She was at Stamford for two weeks this February as one of Stamford's Authors in Residence. She encouraged Grade 4 students to work towards a publication and also gave presentations to our elementary and middle school students. Stamford students were excited to learn what Rosemary does in her studio, how she illustrates and writes her books and had the chance to ask the author their own questions.
In writing I had problems with being organized in writing. So my goal was to make better plans for my writing, organize my paragraph and organize my sentences. So I started practicing. When Rosemary wells came to teach us how to do the story arc that helped me with that goal.

I was lucky because my parents were happy and they supported all that I wanted to do. They had both been in the theater and understood the arts from the inside. We had a houseful of wonderful books. Reading stories aloud was as much a part of my childhood as the air I breathed.
