Innovation Center Hosts Coding Week

The Stamford American Innovation Centre hosted the Hour of Code this December, encouraging students to develop their coding skills during free time. Over 80 students used the Center across a week period, testing their skills on popular gaming platforms such as Minecraft, Tynker and Scratch and working with Lego Robotics kits. Jao Bilhim, a Stamford parent and Microsoft employee volunteered to help students with coding tutorials.

The Innovation Centre’s ‘Student Open Period’ encourages students to explore and experiment at the Center throughout the semester, occurring before and after school hours and during recess. The state-of-the-art Innovation Center provides students with a progressive, hands on experience, and commercial acumen from an early age thanks to a unique partnership with Bloomberg, one of the world’s best known financial organizations.
