To most parents, it’s a major change from enjoying your child at home 24/7 to having them begin their school education. We recognize the signs that our little ones are ready, but as parents we are not sure if we are ready ourselves. Often too, schools do not offer flexibility to fit around work or other busy family commitments.
At Stamford American, we make it as easy as possible for you and your child to adapt to school life with a gentle start by offering flexibility and choice.
A school day which adapts as the family needs
Half Day or Full Day
Different families have different situations to contend with. Not all children (and parents) are ready for full time school right from the get go, and others cannot start fast enough. This is why Stamford American knows that it is important to provide a flexible school schedule.
|Grade||Half Day||Full Day||Co-Curricular|
|Pre-Nursery||9am to 12:10pm||9am to 3:30pm||-|
|Nursery||9am to 12:10pm||9am to 3:30pm||-|
|Pre-Kindergarten||9am to 12:10pm||9am to 3:30pm||3:40pm to 4:20pm|
|Kindergarten 1||9am to 12:10pm||9am to 3:30pm||3:40pm to 4:20pm|
9:00 am to 12:10 pm
With education starting at the Early Learning Village in Pre-Nursery at 18 months of age, this is often the first time children are being separated from their primary caregiver. For those looking for a gentler start to school, they may elect to attend for half days. The half day schedule is thoughtfully planned to give these students plenty of learning and specialist activities whilst only participating in the morning.
9:00 am to 3:30 pm
Regardless of the age, a full day school experience at the Early Learning Village is packed with learning, inquiry and fun.
Our full day students enjoy a healthy family style lunch, eaten with their teachers and friends and nap time for the little ones.
For those looking to ease into school for the first time, you may enrol your child for just 3 days a week. As children naturally become comfortable, feel reassured and more confident, you can extend to 4 days.
A school week designed with families in mind
3 days, 4 days or 5 days
|5 Days||Half Day||Mon-Fri|
|5 Days||Full Day||Mon-Fri|
|4 Days||Full Day||Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri|
|3 Days||Full Day||Mon, Tue, Wed|
|3 Days||Full Day||Wed, Thu, Fri|
For those looking to ease into school for the first time, you may enrol your child for just 3 days a week. As children naturally become comfortable, feel reassured and more confident, you can extend their days to 4 days.
Before long, children are thriving in their school environment and looking to extend the learning and social interaction full time for the 5 days. It is important to note, that our Kindergarten 2 children (age 5 to 6 years) are required to attend 5 full days to access the curriculum as they begin the first formal years of elementary.
