Giving Tree initiative at Stamford American

16 December 2016
Giving Tree initiative at Stamford American

The Giving Tree program at Stamford American International School was once again a great success. Every year, each grade level from Nursery to Grade 5 adopts a charity to support over the course of the year.

During December, students are encouraged to participate in the Giving Tree Program by buying an item requested by their chosen charity and bring it to school to place under a tree.  These charities include Children’s Cancer Foundation of Singapore, Club Rainbow Singapore, Make-a-Wish Foundation, St. John’s Home for the Elderly and Ronald McDonald House.

The goal of the program is to raise students' and parents' awareness of the various grade level charities and enable them to be directly involved. In our Secondary School, Giving Tree donations are collected to support Cambodia Hope School and Habitat for Humanity. Donated items have already been distributed by Stamford PTA to the selected charities in time for the holiday season.
