Stamford sponsored Charity Art Auction
Posted in Stamford News by Kate Reynolds on 10 November 2011The Stamford American sponsored Charity Art Auction held on Thursday, November 10th was a HUGE success. The auctioneer, Mr. Jehan Chu, came specially from Hong Kong to participate in the event and did an excellent job prompting some lively bidding. There were 2 pieces of art donated by Stamford American and both were in high demand. The student piece was contributed by 2 very talented Grade 6 students, Jane Kim and Kathy Park, and received an impressive winning bid of $700! Our Art Teacher Sarah Johnson donated the second piece entitled Autumn Leaves which had a tremendous winning bid of $2,000! Stamford will be matching both bids and 100% of the funds will to the Children's Cancer Foundation, a total of $5,400 generated by Stamford! Many thanks to our artists for their donations and to everyone who attended for their contributions to a great evening and a great cause.
