Bi-lingual, Bi-literate and Bi-Cultural
“Language is the road map of culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going.”*
At Stamford American, we believe that being multilingual is a key element of global citizenship which fosters true cultural appreciation and enhances communication skills. Our World Language Program provides 3 of the world’s most spoken languages – Mandarin, Spanish and English, taught by native speaking specialists.
Our language approach aims to develop students as bi-lingual, bi-literate, and bi-cultural through either daily curriculum language instruction, the well-established bilingual program, or accelerated English learning.

We believe that being multilingual is a key element of global citizenship. It fosters cultural appreciation and enhances communication skills, not only amongst peers here at Stamford but through life across education, work and travel.
The ability to not only be understood – but to communicate proficiently and confidently –is vital. This stands behind the development of our World Language Program, giving extensive language choices, taught by native speaking specialists.
With over 70 nationalities at Stamford American, we offer 3 of the world’s most spoken languages – English, Mandarin and Spanish. There is the option to learn either Mandarin or Spanish instructed daily from 18 months, or an immersion option in Mandarin. The extensive language offering is completed by our Accelerated English Program, helping students to achieve fluency in the language.
