When does the school year begin and end?  The school year runs August to June.

 

What grades are taught at Stamford? 
For the 2011-2012 school year, Stamford is open for students ages 2-14 (Nursery - Grade 8). Grade 9 will be added for the 2012-2013 school year and so on through to Grade 12. 

 

What curriculum is taught at Stamford?

SAIS offers two rigorous programs of study: an American based curriculum enhanced by the International Baccalaureate* program. SAIS also emphasizes a strong foreign language foundation.

 * SAIS is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme and is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that SAIS believes is important for our students.Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as IB World Schools can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

 

Where is Stamford located?

SAIS will be at the SAIS Foundation Campus until the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Opened in August 2009, the Foundation Campus offers purpose-built facilities with the latest developments in classroom technology and IT infrastructure. With capacity for up to 660 students, the Foundation Campus is located at 11 Lorong Chuan (across from the Lorong Chuan MRT).

 

The SAIS Permanent Campus will open in August 2012 and will offer world class learning facilities with the latest in classroom technology and IT infrastructure for children from Nursery through Grade 12. Located at 279 Upper Serangoon Road (next to the MRT Woodleigh Station), the campus will feature modern athletic and recreational facilities. All students will move to this campus for the 2012-2013 school year.

 

What is the Student-to-Teacher Ratio at Stamford?  The maximum class size at Stamford is 22. Nursery classes have a ratio of 5:1; Pre-Kindergarten 9:1; and Kindergarten 1 and above have a ratio of 11:1.

 

What languages are taught at Stamford? There is daily Mandarin and Spanish foreign language instruction.

 

What special assistance is available to students? Learning Support, English as an Additional Language, Mother-Tongue Program

 

What specialist instruction is provided? Music, Visual Arts, Drama, IT, Physical Education, and Library

What extra-curricular activities are available at Stamford? SAIS offers a wide variety of after school activities including sports, arts and music.
