Stamford American International School Curriculum

SAIS is structured in accordance with a rigorous International American-style curriculum. Our curriculum is based on US National standards and is enriched by an International accredited program.

Our blend of American and International curricula make SAIS accessible to a wide range of students from all nationalities. Emphasis is placed on cross-culture communication and students build a strong foreign language foundation with daily Spanish and Mandarin classes starting at age 2. Mother-Tongue support is also available and the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program provides support to students for whom English is not the primary language.

Stamford American International School is a candidate school* for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). SAIS is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that SAIS believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as IB World Schools can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
